Whoopsi Daisy "Make your own Embellishment Challenge"

This weeks challenge at Whoopsi Daisy is make your own embellishments. I have used an image from Whoopsi Daisy's sheet 29 which includes the parasol. Keep checking the shop site as Linnie often has a freebie of one of her lovely images.

I have used promarkers to colour the images. The flowers are handmade from dies using card, netting and leaf ribbon.

The background paper is a freebie from a craft magazine and I have made the butterflies from seed and bicone beads -  I knew those bead classes would pay off!

Have fun making your own embellishments.

The new challenge at Crafting for all Seasons is Sunset/Fall Colours and as we have two sponsors I have made cards using an image from each.

This one is the cornucopia image from Whimsy stamps which I have coloured with promarkers. I have used a background paper of squirrels getting ready for the winter and the leaves are fabric leaves from my stash.

There are 5 free digi stamps to one lucky person.

I have entered this card in the following challenges:

Anything Goes at Anything Goes!

It's anything goes this week over at Anything Goes Challenge Blog. I have been commissioned to make a wedding card and decided to use my new Kanban stamps I purchased last week from Craft Den.

I used the Lattice embossing folder from Creative Expressions (available from Craft Den) to create the textured background. The panel was created using a resist technique by stamping the rose background Kanban stamp, embossing with white embossing powder and then the background was coloured using Distress Ink, Spun Sugar. The heart was made using wire and beads from my stash. The image was stamped on to an oval die-cut and mounted on a scalloped oval die-cut cut from silver miri card. Flowers, ornate corners and pearls were found in my stash and used to finish the card off.

Good luck to all the entrants this fortnight!

Whoopsidaisy Shabby Chic Challenge

This week's challenge at WhoopsiDaisy is Shabby Chic. This is my first challenge as a GDT member and despite my 2 grandchildren staying at my house this weekend and causing chaos, I have made this card:

I made all the flowers using die cuts and quilling; I haven't made quilled flowers for a while but I think I'll make several more in the future! Small pearls were added to the center of each flower and one in the bow in the little girls hair. I have used Sheet 29 from Linnie's lovely images. She has a Buy One Get One Free offer at the moment, so go over to WhoopsiDaisy Digi Store and have a look for yourself.

Good luck to all the entrants this week!

I am now a GDT member at WhoopsiDaisy!

I am delighted to have been asked to be a GDT member over at WhoospiDaisy. I love Linnie's images and am excited to work with such a talented bunch of crafters. I have already started working on my first challenge and will post it early next week.

Linnie provides a free image on Sundays and they are always stunning! If you're not familiar with her digi images, take a look as every sheet is gorgeous.

The WhoopsiDaisy challenges are every Sunday and the lucky winner gets a few sheets of Linnie's wonderful designs, so play along this Sunday and don't forget to pop back here to have a look at what I have created.

Balloon Bunny

Despite the horrible weather, I've been having great fun playing in my craft room for the past few evenings (and all day today as it is my day off :D) with my daughter. We've been playing around with lots of different papers, digi images and stamps and have made some lovely cards.

This week's challenge over at Lili of the Valley Challenge Blog is a sketch and I made the following card:

I used blues and greens as I loved the balloon background paper I found on a CD in my stash. The ribbon, the buttons and the baker's twine all seemed to work together to titivate the card and finish it off. Even though my DH says I have far too much stuff, I need a good stash to be able to play around and put a lovely card together!

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Crafting for all Seasons Birthday Challenge

The challenge this fortnight over at Crafting for all Seasons is Birthday! The design team had the opportunity to play with images from Meljen's Designs, have a nosey at the site, there are some lovely digi stamps and a Freebie available every Monday! The prize for this challenege will be 4 images from Meljen's Designs.

I used the Birthday Cupcake and created this card:

I am really pleased with this card. I love the colour of the papers and managed to find a ribbon in my stash that matched perfectly! I made the flowers myself following a new technique I found. The edges of the paper were stitched, this was the first time I incorporated stitching into one of my cards. I sparkled the stars from the cupcake using Creative Expressions Cosmic Shimmers.

Good luck!!

Anything Goes # 49 Shabby Chic / Vintage Challenge

This is my first challenge as a Design Team Member at Anything Goes Challenge Blog.

This week's challenge is Shabby Chic / Vintage and I decided to go Vintage using Creative Expressions Timeless Journey and Carte Postale stamp sets and Distress Inks, available from Craft Den.

I created by own background papers using a script stamp with perfect medium and clear embossing powder for a resist effect and then using cut and dry foam coloured the paper with distress ink, I then distressed the edges with a craft knife.  The second background paper is strips of masking tape randomly put on, I dragged a distress ink pad across which caught the raised parts of the masking tape. The whole sheet was rubbed with perfect medium and embossed with clear embossing powder.

The vintage car was stamped on a beer mat (from my local pub) which I had painted using the crackle effect. The sentiment stamp was die cut and then dry embossed with an embossing folder. The card was finished off with faux screw head brads from Creative Expressions, string, a button and the suitcases from the Timeless Journey stamp set were placed using foam pads.

I'm really happy with this card and think it is an excellent man's card.

Good luck to all the entrants this fortnight!
