Whoopsi Daisy Brown and Pink Challenge

This week the theme for our challenge at Whoopsi Daisy is Brown and Pink, such a lovely colour combination. To enter our challenge you will need to use a Whoopsi Daisy image but please look here for a freebie that you can use.

Linnie's images are gorgeous and in conjunction with Joann Sheen she has now brought out a CD with a compilation of brand new images. You can purchase it from Joanna's site here and its free P&P and if you want a preview of the cd its here at   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zLfWYvUMKtg.

My DT card this week is a commissioned valentine card.

The lovers on the bench is from WD sheet 331 and the chocolate box is from sheet 202 which I have coloured  with my new flexmarkers and promarkers.  The birds on branches, roses and leaves are creatables dies cut from the chocolate box cordinations card and sanded. The backing papers are called chocolate and roses, a gorgeous downloadable paper pack by Tracy Barnes. The sentiment is from Graphicus which has been embossed with bronze embossing powder. The Love on the heart doilly  is a sissix die also cut from the same cordinations card.

The fence (netting) is plastererboard tape available from any DIY shop and is cheap as chips. This is great stuff and I have covered it with versamark and embossed with bronze embossing powder and as it's sticky on one side you can pop it straight onto your project!

Daisy and Friends CD

Yesterday was the launch on C&C of the new Daisy and Friends CD from Joanna Sheen and the artist was none other than our Linnie from Whoopsi Daisy.

This is a lovely collection of images of mainly little girls but there are a few boys too. All the images are either pre coloured or black and white so you can choose your own colours for the images if you prefer. There are also backing papers, sentiments, stationery sets and door hangers so lots to play with.

I was delighted to be asked to produce some samples for the C&C show but oh my with so many to choose from it was really hard to narrow it down. I printed off loads of backing papers and images before deciding which to use.

Here are the cards I made:

I was so pleased that Joanna showed every one of my cards on the shows but I must say that all the other designers' samples were really really lovely and I was so chuffed that my cards were included with theirs.

Crafting For All Season #19 Blue and White

Hello fellow crafters. The new challenge from Crafting for all Seasons is Blue and White, a nice easy one as there are so many shades of blue.

We are very lucky to have three sponsors for this challenge. Pink Cat Studio are giving 5 digi images to one of our winners, Saturated Canary have donated 2 digi images to another lucky crafter and Di's Digital Downloads is giving a $10 gift voucher.

My DT card was made for my daughter's friend who is off to Poland for 6 months and then to California for a year as part of her masters degree course. Lucky girl!

I have used Pink Cat Studios Bouquet of Flowers digi which is coloured with my promarkers.. This is a cute image with buttons for the flower centres so I decided to put on real buttons tied with ribbon then die cut it with spellbinders labels 4. The papers are from Funky Hand's Happy Happy  Birthday CD which I have matted onto blue and white cardstock. The little flowers are actually  ribbon but can be cut into individual flowers and they colour beautifully with promarkers, the centres are candy with some blue stickles glitter dabbed on. The large flower is made up of  white prima flowers two of which have been coloured with promarkers and a sissix leaf die. The sentiment is a papermania freebie. the ribbon and small button flowers are from my stash.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Anything Goes #59 "To the One I Love"

Time for another challenge at Anything Goes and this time its "To the One I Love" ready for Valentine's and we have a fabulous sponsor this fortnight.  The Craft Den will now stock all the Indigo Blu stamps and to celebrate Indigo Blu are giving a £20 gift voucher to our winner to spend in their store!

Quintessentially English rubber stamps, with unique and highly detailed deep etched designs – all made in England.  IndigoBlu stamps have been featured on Create and Craft a few weeks ago.

Here is my DT card for this challenge. I generally go for the usual red for Valentine's but decided to go vintage this time and do something a bit different.

The rose and lattice frame and sentiment are creative expressions stamps which I coloured using Tattered Rose and Walnut Stain distress inks. I've used Tim Holtz's heart wings die and the metal embellishments are from his ideology range. Builders scrim and string add to the grungy effect and the papers which I have distressed with a craft knife, are from my stash. The faux screw brads are creative expressions. The stamps, dies, inks, ideology and brads are all available from The Craft Den.

I added a concertina butterfly using the music paper and distressing it with vintage photo distress ink. This is a fab template that I was kindly given by Shirley Chillman and she has a tutorial on her blog here

Whoopsi Daisy "Bling It!" Challenge

Wow another week gone already which means its time for another Whoopsi Daisy challenge which is "Bling It."

The Daisy Divas have created  beautiful cards, do pop over to the blog and have a look.

Don't forget you need to use a WD image to enter the challenge but Linnie always posts a new freebie for each new challenge so please visit her site here for a gorgeous image.

My card for the challenge is from sheet 202.

This is a gorgeous image, I must admit I do looove  Linnie's ooh la la style images! I have coloured her with promarkers and the pattern on her stockings was done using a mask and then stamping through with a mesh stamp. The spellbinders die is labels 20 and I also used them as templates to get two extra mats. The papers are Papermania Elegance which are all gold and black with a gorgeous sheen which unfortunately this photo doesn't do justice. The lace has gold glitter thread which can just about be seen. The lace and ribbon are from Janette's haberdashery shop in Blackpool - her shop is an Aladdin's Cave for ribbon and lace etc! The bling are from creative expressions as is the black ribbon flower.

Crafting for All Seasons # 18 Snowman/Snowflakes Challenge

Hello fellow crafters, our challenge theme at  Crafting for all Seasonis Snowmen or Snowflakes
and we have three sponsors, Bugaboo stamps with a prize of 7 digi images, Some Odd Girl offering a prize of 3 digi images and The Stamping Boutique who are offering 3 digi images or 1 digi paper pack.
My teamies have produced some fantastic projects using images from all the sponsors. Please go and visit the CFAS blog to see them.

This is my card which features a Bugaboo digi called Fancy SB Winter. This has been coloured with promarkers and die cut. The lace reminded me of icicles so I thought it went well with the ice skating scene, this is on a border created with a Martha Stewart punch.

The design papers, well there is a saga behind these! When I printed them (for another project) they ought to have been green but the yellow ink cartridge had run out and these gorgeous blues are what were printed! lol The flowers are kinda like snowflakes so I used the misprints  for this project. Very pleased with the result and at least they weren't wasted! I cut out some of the individual flowers and mounted them with foam pads added a gem in the centre and a sentiment to finish off.

Anything Goes Challenge #58 at Anything Goes

A nice easy challenge for the New Year from Anything Goes - it's Anything Goes!

My DT card is one I made for my daughter Rachel's birthday last week, she loves shoes and my new Kanban stamp from The Craft Den was just perfect.

and inside

The papers are a designer digi set I bought a while ago especially to use on a card for Rachel as she loves the pink and black combination. These are gorgeous papers and I think they will get plenty of use in the future. Some black lace, pearls, ribbon, a flower and pins  complete the card.

This was one of those card designs that just fell into place quite quickly almost by itself lol!

Whoopsi Daisy Pink and Green Challenge

This week our challenge at Whoopsi Daisy is to use the colours pink and green. Don't forget to use a Whoopsi Daisy image to enter the challenge and if you visit the web site here there is a freebie you can use.

The top spot wins two sheets of their choice of Linnie's gorgeous images and as there are four images on each sheet that's a fab eight images. So come and join in the fun!

This is my DT card using one of the images from sheet 315

I love the images on this sheet, they are a little different than the usual Whoopsie Daisy images of little girls.

As usual I have coloured her with promarkers and die cut her 'out of the box' so she looks as if she is sitting on the edge of the circle. The dps are from a freebie paper pad.

Whoopsi Daisy Free and Easy Challenge

This weeks Whoopsi Daisy challenge is Free and Easy and we have changed the rules for entering your cards. Only Whoopsi Images from now on but there will be a freebie here for you to use.

My cousin's daughter has her birthday later this month. I always send her a card for her birthday and, when I saw this image I just had to use it for Stephanie, she too has very long hair like this image and I have coloured the hair the same as hers.

Anything Goes # 57 The Colour Blue and one other

This post was scheduled but it seems our internet connection must have gone down whilst we were on holiday and we have only just been re-connected. Our service provider kept insisting it was our internal wiring but eventually it came out that the problem was their end!

Our challenge at Anything Goes this fortnight is The colour blue and one other. (I have edited my original post)

This card was commissioned by my daughter for her boyfriend. She actually bought the stamp herself and chose the papers but left the design to me. Behind the sentiment is a secret message. The image was coloured with promarkers and die cut with spellbinders dies available from the Craft Den.

Happy New Year and happy crafting everyone!
